Courses

The College offers three main courses:

·    A two year A level course starting in September;

·    An eighteen month accelerated A level course starting in January;

·    A one year GCSE course starting in September.

Students may take three or four A level subjects on to A2 level, depending upon their aptitude and progress.

The GCSE course is an accelerated one year course. Students may take a maximum of six subjects if both English Language and English Literature are studied, otherwise the maximum is five.

All courses are supported by a programme of study skills.

In addition to their lessons students sit weekly tests for each subject they are studying.

If required, students undertake an EFL course which leads to an IELTS examination.

Statutory School Age Students (SSA Students)

We have a specific programme provided for students who join the College prior to their sixteenth birthday (known in the UK as Statutory School Age Students). Two additional lessons are given every week. PE (Physical Education) and PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education).

In PE lessons we use either our own facilities or nearby venues. Activities include archery, basketball, dance, football, golf swimming and wall climbing.

PSHE covers issues such as healthy living, social responsibility and relationships.

When SSA students have not got a subject specific lesson their course is supplemented with supervised study periods.
