Last week we were delighted to welcome Gerry Gavigan from the West London Go Club who gave a presentation about the board game Go.

Staff and students enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about the game with students clearly outranking staff in their knowledge and experience. While the staff were trying to work out the basic rules, our youngest students were already busy playing against each other and the visiting lecturer. It was exciting to discover that CTC London has Go players of a high standard, notably Huayuan Gu who is a GCSE student and already 1 Dan.

A regular Go Club is to open in September 2017 and Students and staff alike are all welcome to compete for a place in the Cambridge Tutors College Go Team which we hope can represent CTC at national and international competitions.”
